The Big Points:
The Highlight: Pushback Begins
The last three issues of the Bulletin have been a general narrative of nation state sponsored/exacerbated global discord. For the first time, we’re able to report the first real resistance to CCP and Russian backed disorder. In the US, American military programs designed to prepare US forces for war in the Pacific show promise. In the Pacific, Australian military sources have stated they will persist in surveillance flights over contested waters in the Pacific despite CCP demands that Australia recognize their illegitimate territorial claims. Finally, though not coordinated in the same way as the US and Australia, Muqtada al Sadr has finally, and publicly, broken with the Iranian backed Shia political movements in the Iraqi government. Al Sadr’s rejection of the current Iraqi government has sent thousands of armed protesters to the streets, and cause chaos for those foreign nations trying to influence Iraqi politics.
The Long Term Concern: War On The Horizon
The trends of resource shortage and disorder continue, but with the way things are going, we are revising our long term assessment. The Al Sadr riots are likely to expand into sectarian violence which will draw in neighboring nations and neighboring conflicts. In Asia, CCP aggression towards Taiwan shows no signs of abating, and the current signals suggest that the CCP is setting the stage for an attempt on the island nation. Europe’s long war in Ukraine continues. Should Ukrainian forces prove successful in their counter attack towards Kherson, the face of the war may change in Ukraine’s favor, with serious consequences for Russia domestically.
