I think that’s a valid assertion, but there’s a lot of chicken or egg there, no? Another issue is the absence of civics education in America. Everything is a conspiracy when you don’t actually know how anything works. I spent three years at the Pentagon getting an education on how things work and how they don’t in that particular aspect of governmental operations. Anyone who thinks conspiracy, rather than well intentioned incompetence, is the root of our issues is spending too much time on the weirder parts of the web.
Distrust is ROE; I answered on incompetence below, but my distrust comes from ROE, which in practice was exactly like the COVID mask regime… also cowardly and faithless. I was there, no Internet needed. That faithless and frivolous playing games with our lives can’t be rationalized away.
This is why the military core of Veterans families are walking away.
BTW that well intentioned incompetence regarding money appears in person downrange as a lot of corruption when seen, because… it is corruption.
The Well intentioned incompetence at Arlington is tremendously enriching at the FOB and on the line. The movie “Iraq for Sale” is an accurate documentary.
I think judging on results is wise. A problem, as I see it however, is the fact that people bend their perception of results to fit the reality they choose and reinforce. They then propagate that reality for whatever dopamine based reasons they choose. But up is still up and down is still down. We can argue the reasonability or appropriateness or benefit/lack thereof of reality all day. We can debate causality. But unless we have some common reality that is informed by reason, evidence, and a decent understanding of how and why things work mechanically, the disagreements are pretty meaningless as is any attempt to move past them to something more effective.
There’s truth in that, however fairly or not people do ultimately judge results. There’s also a great deal of profiteering from human suffering caused by policies across the board, social policies, foreign policy and now medical policies. It would be more credible to say well intentioned incompetence if there was less suffering that openly enriches criminals like Pfizer, Urban political machines that clearly unleashed crime and chaos for political reasons, and the money laundering operation that is Ukraine.
Now here comes the Pentagon with PPBOE and a $37 Trillion Dollar audit hole … that is systemic dysfunction and is a system that makes sure little old ladies in tennis shoes can’t count, and how does that look in context? The time for the Pentagon to go to a system that knows the accounts to a penny daily was after the 2008 financial crisis. Instead we get an audit 11-12 years later…. In the middle of the forced evil that was COVID…
Look if you associate with criminals long enough, guess what people think?
Lacking trustworthy information validates high suspicion.
Yes?
Information isn’t the problem or what is lacking, Trust is…

So no one cares about the intentions in the end.
